Introduction

This course provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to install and configure Microsoft® Windows® 2000 Professional on stand-alone computers and on client computers that are part of a workgroup or a domain. In addition, this course provides the skills and knowledge necessary to install and configure Windows 2000 Server to create file, print, and Terminal servers. It also provides students with the prerequisite knowledge and skills required for course 2153, Implementing a Network Infrastructure Using Microsoft Window 2000.

At the end of the course, students will be able to install or upgrade to Windows 2000; configure the Windows 2000 environment; connect clients running Windows 2000 to networks and the Internet; create and manage user accounts; manage access to resources by using groups; configure and manage disks and partitions; manage data by using NTFS; provide network access to file resources; configure printing; implement Windows 2000 security; maintain the Windows 2000 environment; optimize performance in Windows 2000; implement disaster protection; configure Windows 2000 for mobile computing; install and configure Terminal Services; and implement Windows 2000 Servers and Clients.  

At Course Completion 

This course is intended for new-to-product support professionals who will be responsible for instal­ling and configuring Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional and Windows 2000 Server, and for those who are on the Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) Windows 2000 certification track.
